Brief Description of duties / key Results to be achieved:

Primary Objective of Position:
An active member of the Industry Solutions Group (ISG), participating in key market research and planning initiatives that will assist Emerson to monitor and exploit Industry dynamics; identify and exploit Strategic Growth Opportunities (SGOs) and monitor progress against a set of Key Performance Indicators across all industries. This will involve extensive interaction with ISG Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Emerson Process Management’s corporate Planning team, and Emerson Divisional and World Area representatives.

Job Functions:

General Industry Analysis

  • Work closely with ISG Industry Leads and Sales & Marketing Leads and the ISG Planning Team to enhance and articulate our understanding of industry dynamics.
  • Work with ISG Industry teams to identify and validate suitable market segmentation
    model for more complex industries, e.g. chemical, and prioritize the most attractive segments.
  • Work with the ISG Planning Team to identify industry segment data sources, including industry reports, competitor and customer information.
  • Help to research available external metrics and indicators that illustrate key trends, drivers, forthcoming projects and market dynamics by industry/segment
  • Work with Industry Leads and ISG Planning team to identify examples of best practice in the presentation of market information and help to prepare Powerpoint presentations that summarize findings
  • Work with ISG Industry Leads on a Quarterly Industry Update Bulletin including Industry, Customer and Competitor updates Targeted Market Research
  • Help to collect and analyze customer and competitor information and develop profiles as required on an ad hoc basis, including key financials, strategies, scope of supply etc.
  • Help to identify and map key customers and their sites for End Users, EPCs and OEMs, as appropriate.
  • Support the SGO Stage Gate Process at key stages of the Industry Growth Planning process.

This will involve contributing to the tools used for SGO identification, definition and prioritization (Gate 0), in depth market research for inclusion in selected Market Studies (Gate 1), and support for Divisional and WA Application Reviews (Gate 2).

Industry Metrics

  • Liaise with Industry Leads and the ISG Planning Team to agree and develop an “at a glance” dashboard that uses KPIs for reference by Senior Management in order to monitor progress against objectives.
  • Understand and access in-house data sources, (PATT and GDW) and collect data on a

    Assist Industry Leads to collect, consolidate and monitor GP3 project information.

Project Analysis

  • Help to identify and track Emerson PlantWeb successes for inclusion in Proven
  • Results/Tale of the Site and other promotional materials

Skills:

  • Must be capable of analyzing and interpreting market trends and articulating these clearly for use in-house
  • Good English written and oral communication skills
  • Highly conversant with Microsoft Office Powerpoint, Word and Excel
  • Able to quickly understand and master in-house systems, e.g. PATT and GDW
  • Basic understanding of the Control and Instrumentation industry, and some Industrial Marketing experience preferred
  • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills for internal interaction and relationship building
  • Able to work both in a small team environment and a global matrix organization

Brief Description of duties / key Results to be achieved:

The Supervisor will oversee a number of small team in the group that are focused on Product
Documentation & HCD (Human Centered Design) Engineering, AO Marketing Communication, and Business Analysis and Reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assign tasks agreed upon by both Manila and US management to team members in order to meet plans and objectives.
  • Oversees and monitors the team’s daily productivity and assist in work assignments; ensures
    appropriate progress in being made.
  • Provides feedback on team’s performance, does coaching on weekly basis.
  • Escalates issues and provides sound recommendation to Manila manager; should be able to provide and develop solutions to problems.
  • Continuously improves and assist in preparing team’s processes, documentation, and report required from the team
  • Responds to questions or concerns of the team, in a timely manner.
  • Conduct team meetings
  • Interview candidates and provide input/recommendations during the hiring process to US and Manila managers.
  • Provide input/recommendations for training of new employees with US and Manila managers
  • Works to get tools/applications in place to assist team members in their duties

Previous Experience / Skills:

  • 7+ years of related experience, of which 2+ years are in a supervisory capacity
  • Candidates must be detail-oriented, quality conscious, capable of understanding system-level concepts, self-motivated, and hard working
  • The Candidates must have solid experience in working with different team across multiple sites
  • The candidate must have excellent English language communication skills, both oral and written, with a strong desire to work in a cross-culture team
    BS/ in Engineering, Computer Science or Management or related Technical Field
